Standard Warranty (1 Year)
All Makita products are inspected before leaving the factory and guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the original purchase date.
If your Makita product develops a fault within the first year due to a covered defect, you can send it (complete and freight prepaid) to an authorised service agent or directly to Makita. Subject to inspection, Makita will repair the product free of charge.
Extended Warranty (3 Years – Optional)
Makita offers a 3-year extended warranty on CE-marked power tools (excluding batteries, chargers, accessories, petrol-powered tools, production tools, and air tools/compressors) purchased after July 1st, 2012.
To qualify for the extended warranty, the end-user customer must register the tool online within 30 days of purchase at https://www.makitauk.com/mymakita-login
The extended warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under the following conditions:
- Wear and tear from normal use is not covered
- Only authorised service providers can perform repairs after delivery
- Misuse, neglect, improper care, accidents, or attempted repairs void the warranty
- Tools must be used according to Makita’s instructions and with genuine parts
Warranty Exclusions (Standard & Extended)
- Repairs due to normal wear and tear, misuse, improper maintenance, modifications, or use of non-genuine parts
- The Makita clothing range and consumable items like chucks, power leads, service items, filters, and cleaning
Warranty Claim Process
To make a warranty claim within the warranty period:
- Standard Warranty: Forward the end-user customer’s tool (complete with the original receipt) to a local authorised service agent
- Extended Warranty: The end-user customer should contact Makita directly at Tel: 01908 211 678 or email servtech@makitauk.com to arrange collection
Makita will inspect the tool and repair it free of charge if the warranty applies. Costs may be incurred for invalid claims.
Please note: This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
Important: As a wholesaler, you are responsible for forwarding this warranty information to your end-user customers.
